The Koi we wanted were to be sourced from Japan as the Japanese breeders are regarded as masters, and lead the way in the production of Nishikigoi. They possess knowledge amassed over generations of doing nothing but breeding Koi, anyone with the love of Nishikigoi owes the Japanese a tremendous debt.

After establishing contacts in Japan to supply such, the decision was made.

We chose a different path to other dealers wanting to explore the development of Koi to nurture and grow them was our aim.

We import Koi from many famous breeders in the Niigata prefecture mainly Ojiya and Nagoaka cities, recently we have been purchasing Koi from southern Japan also, as we strive to keep our options open for obtaining the best Koi for the best price, but one thing we make sure of is that we only purchase Koi from farms that guarantee their stocks are free from KHV and SVC, and also offer health certificates to back this up.

When Koi arrive in from Japan they spend up to six weeks in our purpose built quarantine facilities, where they undergo a strict quarantine programme which ensures the health and wellbeing of the Koi, backed up by a Biosecurity Measures Plan produced in accordance with CEFAS, the Fish Health Inspectorate.

Monitoring water parameters and taking regular mucus scrapes ensures that our Koi remain in tip-top condition.

Although we concentrate most of our efforts on supplying breathtaking Koi, we also supply dry goods offering a great range at very competitive prices.
