Bonsai and Cloud Trees
All About Cloud Trees
They add flair to any garden and complement a Koi pond very well, they certainly are a statement tree.
ILEX CRENATE KINME – (CLOUD TREES)
Ilex Crenata are also known as several other names; Japanese Holly, Japanese Kinme and for more obvious reasons, Cloud Trees.
Extremely rare in the UK, this beautiful tree is very slow growing with dark evergreen foliage that has been elegantly shaped into a Topiary Cloud Tree, they also produce tiny white flowers.
These rare trees are a must have for anyone wanting to achieve a Japanese themed garden, or in formal gardens they can be displayed in large planters, either side of a Koi pond.
These stunning trees feature branches with leaves that resemble clouds floating, and are native to Japan, Taiwan, and East Asia.
They are simple, hardy, and easy to maintain. Cloud Trees can be planted in almost any soil types as long as it’s well drained. They cope well in sun or partial shade – all you have to do is give them a light trim from time to time in order to keep their shape.
I use a set of small rechargeable trimmers it takes around 10 minutes to do, generally twice a year.
They can benefit from a liquid fertiliser in the growing season. If you travel to The Oaks Koi Farm you will see that the two Cloud Trees in our outdoor landscaped area look fantastic, with a minimal amount of effort.
We can offer local delivery on the cloud trees.
