K1 Micro Filter Media
K1 media has been used in Koi filtration systems for a number of years.
This new type of filter media, K1 Micro, contains all of the benefits of traditional K1 media but is extruded in a much smaller form.
The small wheel shaped filter media pieces provide a significantly increased protected surface area per cubic metre, when compared to standard K1 for bacteria to colonise.
This makes K1 Micro an ideal filter medium, for use in aquariums through to conventional pond filters of all types, where high level biological filtration is needed, not forgetting of course bead filters, which this media was primarily designed for.
K1 Micro can also be used to replace existing filter media, many people are now switching the media in their existing systems for the added benefits of K1 Micro.
This media is perfect for replacing the beads in your bead filter, many benefits include greater flow rates, as the water can track through the media, and doesn’t have to go round it, also the protected surface area means the Biofilm isn’t lost during cleaning.
