More on Bakki Showers
There are several options of media to use, but the showers were primarily designed for use with Bacteria House Media as seen in Japan, i.e Momotaro Koi Farm. This is the hot fired ceramic tube media which in our opinion is the best, and recommended if the shower is to be used as the primary filtration for the pond.
Other media can be used but they won’t be as effective as Bacteria House Media.
The Bakki Showers have water pumped up to a spray bar located in the top tier of the shower, which evenly distributes the water across the surface of the chosen media. As the water passes through the media and down each tier of the shower, it is not only massively oxygenated, but the water is also denitrfyed along the way, helping to give the Koi even better water quality.
Bakki showers are available in various sizes and with different options on how the water returns to the pond.
The standard showers shown here return via a weir tray, and generally sit on the side of the pond.
The other option available hasn’t got a weir tray, all the water is returned via a 4 inch pipe or two depending on the size of the shower, this option is usually for people who want to locate their shower in a filter house, and or maybe they have a natural themed pond, that won’t suit the look of a shower sat on the side of the pond. This option means the weir tray isn’t required, but extra fabrication is, this results in a cheaper price though. Please call us for more information.
Bakki showers are constructed to a very high standard, they include media platforms for each tier, a weir tray, a lid over the top tier, a spray bar which you can specify the side you want the water feed into the shower, or a back entry water feed is sometimes specified too, this carries an extra cost.
Most people want a three tier shower as shown, but if you require another tier that’s not a problem, just specify that when ordering.
Whatever your requirements, a bespoke shower can be made to suit, they are available in Beige or Black polypropylene.
