The benefit of these types of pumps is massive. You can fine tune your filter system, waterfall or blade returns with the press of a button.
Also another benefit is that in Winter when the Koi are not so active, pumps can be turned down to save money, then in Summer the pumps can be turned up to offer more exercise for the Koi.
Some offer a step control from half power to full power, others including the new EA Varipump offer control from 1% to 100%, so it really is total control. They are very low on power usage too.
