Automatic Koi / Fish feeders are a fantastic invention, and very handy for a number of reasons. One of the most prominent reasons that comes to mind might be if you travel a lot and don’t have anyone to feed your fish.

The most valuable reason for having an Auto Feeder is that you can programme the timer to deliver a set amount of food at a set time. The benefit to this is that the fish get a regular amount of food throughout the day, and we all know that feeding little and often is key. The second reason is that the filtration system gets a constant supply of ammonia in a more often schedule, which is better than one or two big feeds which could over power the filter.

It isn’t necessary to have an auto feeder, but it can be a bonus.
