After a fantastic weekend at Silverstone, all of us here at The Oaks Koi Farm are extremely proud to shout about a young man that we sponsor, a talent that has excelled very quickly, and now being recognised as a name across the motorsport industry, Sam Gornall!

Over this last season, now with Westbourne Motorsport, Sam has had a year to remember! With much more experience behind him, he has grown to be a worthy competitor, a young man now at the age of 18, with so much potential he has a fantastic future to look forward to.

So without any hesitation, we at The Oaks Koi Farm took to the road, down to Silverstone to show our support, and what a weekend it was! Meeting everyone behind the scenes, Westbourne Motorsport, Sam’s family, Team Mates, and all involved to create everything Sam needs to excel in his career. The atmosphere was electric, the noise was phenomenal, thousands of people in the grand stands and watching on the banking’s, the excitement and adrenaline was addictive! All this, which feeds any motorsport driver to succeed, I can clearly see why Sam got the bug, its in his blood, the dream to push himself in this career, and be the best.

Sam’s big race finally arrived, he started out in 3rd position, behind Gabe Fairbrother and Rhys Hurd sharing the front row. By the 3rd lap Sam got ahead in first position, leaving Fairbrother and Hurd in there own battle, with each lap, Sam’s lead grew and the winner was inevitably easy to see. His lead at the front was the largest seen this season, at more than 6 seconds ahead!

At the point we realised Sam had it in the bag, we decided to run to the podium, ready for him to arrive, whilst continuously listening to the live commentator, fingers and toes crossed that Sam would still take first position, it was a wet day, many drivers came off the track, nervously taking the corners, visibility wasn’t at its best as with usual typical British weather! Sam isn’t phased by this, he excels at the challenge!

We were waiting anxiously at the podium, and could hear the celebrations, Sam crossed the line in first place, a very convincing victory.

With ITV and ourselves awaiting his arrival, a very big smile soon came to greet us, big hugs and cheers, Sam was quickly taking in everything he had worked so hard for, ready to go onto the podium holding his trophy and bubbly high for all to see!

Sam will now take an extended lead into the Vertu MINI CHALLENGE Trophy Season finale at Brands Hatch in November, after securing his victory in the final race of the weekend at Silverstone.

Well Done Sam, All at The Oaks Koi Farm are very proud of you and proud to be your sponsor!
