We were first introduced to Sam Gornall by his father Mick, some years ago. He came into the shop to purchase some Koi food, and has been a customer of ours ever since.
He spoke of Sam as being an avid Koi keeper too, and a motor sport fanatic, as conversations went on we got to learn more of Sam’s ambition to become a motor racing driver, and wanting to forge a career in the sport.
Paul also being a bit of a petrol head himself, soon became very interested in the conversations, and Sam’s potential as a young driver, one thing lead to another, and we started sponsoring Sam, starting off in Karting, right through to now, in the Mini Challenge Trophy.
Sam started at the very young age of 5 showing his keenness and ambition to race in karting, by the age of 6 he won the Daytona Formula Bambino Championship in Manchester!
After years taking part in Kart Racing, Sam’s love for the sport, his talent and ability, made him hungry for the next stage, which he truly deserved.
At 18 years of age he is chasing his dream of becoming a professional racing driver. He has also been selected from many applicants by Motorsport UK and is undertaking a bespoke two year Enhanced DiSE programme at Loughborough college to give high potential young drivers the opportunity to gain motorsport specific academic qualifications, whilst competing. He has quickly passed through the karting ranks and now on to cars, with many great successes and achievements throughout the years in this highly competitive sport.
Some of Sam’s greatest achievements to date are:
- 2019 British Karting Championship – Vice Champion Mini-Max
- 2020 British Karting Championship – 4th Jnr Rotax
- 2021 British Karting Championship – Vice Champion Jnr Rotax
- 2022 British Karting Championship – 6th Snr Rotax
- 2023 Mini Challenge Trophy Championship, multiple podiums
Over this last season, now with Westbourne Motorsport, Sam has had a year to remember!
Sponsorship & Opportunity
The Oaks Koi Farm is a proud sponsor of Sam Gornall, and we have enjoyed the journey he has been on thus far, and we believe given the right opportunities he can really go far.
The costs of being involved in Motor Sport are quite hefty, and as one of the most promising young prospects in the UK, Sam is looking for the financial support required to help propel him onwards with his motorsport career.
Obviously this as an expensive sport with race cars, tyres, damage, travel, accommodation and entrance costs that all add up. As Sam goes further on this journey the costs get bigger and bigger, and he will need to gain more sponsors as he progresses. We are inviting partners to support Sam‘s sporting ambition which provides a novel platform to market your company.
The Vertu Mini Challenge Series are exciting and dynamic high profile competitions, with exposure at national and international level.
Being a partner sponsor will mean you have the opportunity to gain unique insights into motorsport and to follow Sam’s progress. You will be offered exclusive team and circuit access at race weekends, plus team branded merchandise.
Partnering with Sam means you can be associated with his success and display your company logo and promote your business, on one or more of the various advertising platforms including:
- Local news, motorsport journals, and a variety of social media channels
- Supporting your companies marketing and sales promotions
- Dedicated Website and Facebook page
- Race car, race suit & helmet logo placement
